Lowline cattle have the genetic ability to reduce late maturity pattern, increase fat cover and marbling whilst achieving competitive 200 and 400 day weights and high yielding carcasses.

At Holiwell, we have a selection of Angus and Murray Grey commercial cows bred to Lowline bulls for the production of first cross Lowline calves.  Some of the firsts cross heifers are retained as replacement breeders, enabling us to evaluate first hand, the performance of Lowline cross commercial beef.  We do offer for sale commercial cross bred heifers and cows.

Our most significant finding would be that the Lowline cross hold their condition far better than our straight bred Angus and Murray Grey animals.  They are better adapted to supporting their calf through out these times.  This is where the feed conversion factors really play a part.
